I have a 3.98 unweighted and a 5.625 weighted / 5 which basically means 96.25 in all advanced courses, so most of my grades are high 90s. However, since the unweighted scale is much more universal I am thinking to list my 3.98 rather than the weighted since both are on my transcript, and my school also doesn’t rank so that also might diminish the usefullness of the weighted gpa. Am I correct to assume in this scenario that it would probably be the better choice to list my unweighted gpa? You can only list one or the other on the report.

Direct from common app:
If your school calculates both weighted and unweighted Class Rank/GPA, report the weighted value.

This is what I did on the commonapp, but UIUC has their own grade report system and they say if your school reports both you can choose which one to report. I reported the unweighted. Sorry about the title not being a bit clearer I was only referring to the SRAR in the UIUC portal.
If they say either I’d go UW - but that said no matter what you do they’ll figure it out.
I haven’t seen UIUC’s SRAR this year, but last year it gave you the choice of which GPA did put in…is that not the case this year?
You can see the question in this video, even though the narrator never talks about that question.
Regardless, as long as you used a GPA from your transcript, that will be fine.
Are both reported on your transcript? It really does not matter which one you put since they recalculate their own unweighted GPA using only core classes, hence the SRAR.
