Should I live on-campus or off-campus?

Money is not really a concern.

The only problem I had is that I was assigned to Sunset Village in a triple room. The problem is that I can’t imagine myself with two other room mates. I was in the military and had two room mates, and I just couldn’t fall asleep knowing that there was two other people in the room. They switched me to one person and I was fine; it wasn’t a problem at all cause I could just speak to him directly. But, it’s going to bother me sharing with two room mates in the same room. I applied for a CAR and didn’t get assigned to a different room and I called housing, they said “too bad.” I heard that Sunset Village is the most dullest of them all. I don’t really want to spend the extra money to live on-campus if its in the worst plaza and with two other room mates. I also doubt there will be anyone on campus willing to switch with me.

Should I really just consider living off-campus now in a studio or two bedroom apartment with a random room mate? Or is the on campus experience really worth the hassle? I just chose to live on campus because I don’t know anyone here. Thank you for your time.

honestly, part of the whole reason of going to college is for the experience. the friendships you make, the experience of living on campus, and other things you’ll go through if you decide to live on campus will never be replaceable. you can always live in an apartment next year, but i would recommend living on campus for at least your first year just to say you did it. it’s not as bad as you think, and you’ll have another chance to switch your housing assignment during week 1.
