Should I major in pure math if I want to have an easy time in college?

I’m 18 and currently a senior in high school. I just got accepted into one of the colleges I applied for. Now I hate to admit this, but I’m not a very studious person. I really want to major in something that doesn’t require a lot of outside studying. I keep hearing that math, more specifically pure math, is by far one of the easiest and least-demanding majors. Does math sound like a good choice for me, given that I’m a bit of a slacker?

Personally, I would not call Calc 1-3 plus Differential Equations easy…and that’s just for starters at my university. Are you good at proofs?

Lol no, theoretical math is a lot of work. You need to spend hours not just memorizing theorems, corollaries, and axioms, but also truly understanding them and being able to connect them together. Your life will be pretty nothing but writing complicated proofs once you get past the intro classes. I just finished taking real analysis (a core course of any math major) and a hw assignment would consist of 4 proofs only. It would take around 8 hours to complete; and this wasn’t just me, but everyone in the class. And you would be lucky if you got at least a 60 out of 80 on it.
