Should I or should I not drop my Elementary Statistics class?

I am learning my first semester at my two year college and these are the courses I’m taking
MATH M15 = 4 credits
PHIL M12 = 3 credits
ANTH M03 = 3 credits
ENGL M01A = 4 credits
PSY M01 = 3 credits

My MATHM15 course is Elementary Statistics and I am getting a hard punch to the stomach upon realizing that it is very advanced for me. I was never a genius at math and the only reason why I was even allowed to take this course was because I got a passing grade in Algebra II. I am still unsure of whether or not I should drop it.
I mean I am a Psychology major currently but I will be switching next semester and I am under a lot of pressure with the English and Philosophy classes and I am currently butchering my math class. Should I drop it? I am really considering withdrawing from that course because I obviously need an easier math class to learn the basics that I obviously don’t know but I also feel pity for the $200 I will be wasting by dropping out.
Are there some pros and cons to dropping with a W?
Thanks.

I would talk to my adviser about this.
Psychology requires statistics to analyze the results of studies…but do you need to take it now?
If you are switching majors, will you need it for that class?
Can you still withdraw? What is the last withdrawal date?
If you withdraw and are failing, does that show up on your transcript?

But talk to your adviser. It might be better to lose $200 than to get an F which will be in your GPA forever.

How bad is “butchering”? Are you failing?

Talk to your academic advisor and decide if dropping the class is the best course of action for you at this point. I don’t think it is a big deal if you have one W on your transcript – but you don’t want to make a habit of it.
