In my freshman year of high school, I was severely bullied for almost a year and a half. It’s an extremely long story but it caused me to not perform as well as I could have in school (got all B’s but 3/6 were B-) in all regular, which effected my sophomore year schedule into being all regular classes as well. It really made an impact on myself and the person I was becoming. I was almost suicidal but had to hide all of this from my parents. I feel more comfortable putting this myself on my application rather than my counselor. Does my counselor have to put it or is there any way I can do it myself?

You should absolutely talk about this yourself, because although your counselor may know the general story, only you can portray the emotion and intensity of the story that will justify your grades, as well as show how much you have grown as a result of the situation. Admission officers love to see people who are able to persevere through rough situations, so this will definitely be a meaningful story to add to your applications.
You should definitely include this information in your applications! It always looks really impressive when you’re able to reflect on a bad situation eloquently–just make sure you can talk about how you’ve overcome it and it’s made you better somehow.
@teamtransfer thanks! Do you recommend that I put it even if my parents don’t know about it? It happened so long ago so I can’t just bring it up now and I didn’t wanna make them bare the burden during the time
