Should I put my non custodial parent on my college application if they aren’t on my FAFSA form?

I already know my non custodial parent doesn’t have to be on my FAFSA form because he never lived or married my mom. I also haven’t lived with him in the past 12 years. I’m not sure if him not being on my FAFSA form means he shouldn’t be on my college application. Should I contact the schools I plan to apply to?

Of course you should include your noncustodial parent if the application asks for information about both parents. The application goes to the admissions office and the FAFSA goes to the financial aid office. They aren’t connected.
