I spent a few days with some family friends in Spain, and we only spoke in Spanish. It wasn’t an official thing since they’re only friends, but I was basically immersed in Spanish language for that week and a half. I stayed with them the summer after completing the highest level of Spanish in my school because I wanted to perfect my Spanish. Should I put this as a Spanish Immersion Program in Coursework other than A-G on the UC application? I’m just worried that it doesn’t count since I didn’t do it through an organization.
Do you really need answering if you should list a vacation as coursework?
I’d be worried listing something as coursework when it’s not. You can discuss it in an essay if it works itself in.
It’s possible to list your experience someplace else on your application. If you can’t find a place, and you think that it’s important, you can send a 1-2 sentence email to the admissions saying that you worked on your spanish during that time for whatever reason (because I felt that an immersion experinece would help my fluency). That sort of thing. Keep the info very short, direct, to the point.
@Dustyfeathers thank you! that’s a really good idea!
