Should i retake a 2400? i got an 11 on the essay T.T

LOL did i get you guyz?

ok i have this question. I want to write a New York Times bestseller.
don’t laugh. now how do i get a book published?

Don’t book publishers read the book and determine whether it’s even good enough to be published first? Okay, this thread is basically pointless.

i know it’ll be good enough. are you implying that i’m a bad writer without even knowing who i am in real life?

No, I’m just stating the fact.

you probably won’t be published either way; or it will take a really long time.

dchow’s pretty much correct.

If you were going to write a book, at least capitalize the first word of every sentence…

^OHHHHH, burned.

Oh cool, I am too. But mine will have more SAT words in it, so it will obviously better. Remember, everything’s quality or intelligence is predicated on the level of vocabulary used in or by them.

Seriously, though, there are novel writing forums out there on the internet. I found one by searching Google for the number of words in a novel. Your question would be answered there.

More seriously, what is it on?

^ Well I’ve already written like 11 bestsellers with higher level words than SAT vocabs ^^

it’s on the crappy education system of America.

and to Superficial35, i’m sorry i but Word does it for you lol

I don’t think any publishing plant would take a teenager seriously, no matter how talented/brilliant/original the person/novel is.
So I think you should try to forge some connections first, esp because you seemto be writing nonfiction. Seriously, connections are everything. Get an internship related to publishing/editting/writing; if you are close to any of your english teachers, show them your recent writings and ask them to spread the word(some english teachers have amazing connections); join a writing forum (like amciw suggested) or some sort of organization.
the point is, you can’t just show a publishing plant your manuscript and expect praise if they have never heard of you before. Establish yourself first.

Also, make sure it is well researched. I highly doubt anyone will publish an anthology of ramblings and rants. You need facts and evidence.

Although, there is never a guarantee that it will be best-selling, even if you do get published.

If you do, make sure the book’s title is somewhat relevant to the content…

The same thing happened to me!!
OH MY GOD!!
I was so waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaasted that night.
I would have gotten the 12 on the essay and would have gotten into Harvard and Princeton if I only got that 12!
I would retake if I were you.

But yea- I think you need to wait a few years before you publish a book.

^I totally agree with jamesford lol your thread title caught my attention and i was really about to rant, probably for pages, on how some people are really stupid because their hell-bent on being a perfectionist, but alas i was mislead by a creative title. :;

LOL

yeah i think its gonna be a satire type of thing.

i think im gonna use a fake name, like Jim Bob Jones

I was writing fiction for a reason.

On the real. It tells you everything you need to know.

There are a number of places online where you can publish anything on-demand. You could do that and then sell the books on Amazon as a way of getting started, but unless your book picks up traction, chances of making a decent profit are low. You might even lose money if your book doesn’t sell.

The vast majority of writers remain unpublished not because they don’t have skill, but because there are many more authors seeking to be published than the market will bare. Publishers could give more of these authors a chance, but that would involve risk on their part. Instead, they stick with authors who they have worked with in the past, are well known, or recommended by one of their published writers. Getting published is all about connections. There are agents you can find who can help make up for a lack of connections, but getting a good one is very competitive and you may be stuck with the lower-level ones.

I hope I helped and good luck!
