<p>I would suggest getting a tutor or gathering up a study group. Self-study won’t help. If you do either, yes, retake the SAT.</p>

<p>Don’t listen to anonymouslyknown… The SAT is supposed to be self-studied but most students receive help from tutors and prep programs because they lack the will to practice on their own. For example, if you knew your parents were shelling out $50 an hour for your own benefit, wouldn’t you work and study hard to make it up? I definitely would and so do many other students. Yes you should definitely retake the SAT because 1600 is just above the average score (1500).</p>
