Should I retake?

Im a senior and Ive taken the SATs twice, 1950 was my highest score. Should I retake it if I want to go to Maryland? I heard that colleges dont really like students who have taken the SATs too many times, but i dont kno if 1950 is enough for me to get in and get scholarships ( as a MD resident)…any thoughts…?

I am not familiar with the difficulty in getting accepted for Maryland. It depends on Maryland’s Admissions…If 1950 is really a lock, and that is your dream college i would stop. However, if you can improve your score, i would advise you to try. The sky is the limit.

Just a question for you, what prep books if any, did you use?

What’d you get M+CR?

Collegeboard only reports M and CR scores for the middle 50% at UMD:
Math: 500-710
Critical Reading: 570-680
So the middle 50% scored between a 1070 and a 1390 on M+CR. I would think that a 1950 M+CR+W, while it’s not a lock, is highly likely since you’re instate (although I know nothing about UMD admissions). I would take it once more and shoot for 2050+.

i used grubers

well according to the middle 50% at UMD, i’d say average score is around 1850-ish. Unless you’re in my case (550CR 720M 750W) with an extremely low score in one area, you don’t need to retake.
