I was thinking of telling him our big family secret (that his dad was a gambling addict), before he went to college, so he knows to look out for that addiction. Thoughts?

Is his dad around to talk to him about that?

Does your son read CC?

Has your son exhibited any indication of addiction previously?

Asssuming this is a valid post (first post and doesn’t sound like an adult to me), I would ask (1) whether his dad is in his life and (2) whether he is clean/in treatment. One concern I would expresss to him is that addictive behavior has a genetic component. So drugs, booze, etc., not just gambling should be on his radar. ESPECIALLY if you know of another one of those in his family tree.

Not sure why this would be a good time to tell your son now.

Senioritis, anyone?

This poster is not legitimate, so I am closing the thread.
