Should I risk ED? Anthropology?

Hey, my academic interests as of now are Spanish, anthropology, and philosophy.....and my top schools of choice are:

Beloit (good Anthro, match....but good at philosophy?)
UChicago (gigantic reach)
Kenyon (reach...anthro and phil?)
Wooster (match)
UMichigan (reach...and kinda big)
Denison (match?)
Oberlin (reach.....anthro and phil?)

Basically, if I had to pick one to apply ED for (I already applied RD), I'd pick Kenyon. Is it worth applying ED considering my other choices and my interests? I also need financial aid.

Also, if I go to Beloit for anthro and change my major......would that be an issue or are the rest of their programs excellent?

Hmmm... Did you look at Franklin & Marshall? They have an exceptional Anthroplogy program, very good language offerings and an outstanding Philosophy program. Kenyon is an outstanding LAC and a great first choice. F&M would be a slight step below.

F and M is too far lol

Too far from where? I did not see your state of residence or any geographic restrictions you may have posted.

Depends. Have you visited Kenyon? Do you truly love it above all the other schools? Have you felt this way about Kenyon for awhile (as opposed to it being a new and recent favorite)?

Kenyon says they'll meet 100% of need, with 'reasonable' limits on loans. Have you run Kenyon's net price estimator? Is their estimate of your family's out of pocket cost in line with what your family can afford? Are you OK with turning down an ED acceptance if the actual FA offer isn't large enough? Are you OK with not being able to compare FA offers between different schools during RD, in order to get the best possible offer?

If you said "no" to any of the above questions, then you shouldn't be applying ED.

The language you're using ("risk" of ED, saying "if I had to pick one school for ED") is telling me you really don't want to apply ED. My two cents is you should wait for RD and see how you do with your EA applications.

I'm from Michigan and I'd like to stay within 6 hours away.

I'm visiting Kenyon next month.....and I applied to 16 schools for a reason: to compare aid packages. I think you're right, thanks.
