Should I rush deliver my SAT for a college with a February 1 deadline?

I just got an email from Seattle Pacific University that they would waive my app fee. I was originally not going to apply due to the $50 fee, but now that it is free I might as well apply to them as a safety school(or if I end up really liking Seattle).

Now, even if I rush deliver, wouldn’t it still be late or can they deliver my SAT scores in 1 day? I don’t need to send my SATs to any other colleges so it would be kind of a waste to rush deliver for just 1 college.

No. Colleges will take SAT scores way past the app deadline. They only need in time for application review, which is mid-February for most schools. I sent my SAT to Carleton on the 30th of December and they got it on the 4th of January. Dont spend the extra money.

From the website it says that SAT and other materials should be received by Feb 1.

Hmm I still would not rush them, but I would call the school and inform them that your scores will possibly be late.

I agree. You do not have to rush send your scores, as almost all schools consider material even after the explicit deadline. Think about it from the perspective of the admissions officers… what benefit would it bring them to reject a student just because his or her test score didn’t make it in on time? If you do not get in, it will not be because your score didn’t get there by February 1st, so you should not spend the extra money (although contacting them beforehand would be helpful). Hopefully this helps!

Do the school receive their scores electronically? Is so I’m not sure it’s a need to rush it. Also even if your rush it at this point they still won’t receive it by Monday.
