I’m transferring to UCB and I won’t have much use for a car while I’m there. I’m sure I could use the few thousand from selling it, and I don’t want to pay insurance on a car I’m not driving at all. However, it would be nice to have a vehicle during holidays at home, and it’d also be nice to still have a vehicle I can use after I graduate, though I suppose I can just buy another one if necessary. Thoughts?

Just sell it. Hitch rides off your friends or use a rental on holidays.

I am transferring to UC Berkeley too and I won’t be selling my car. I just think it is a matter of control. I may say, oh I can use BART to go to school or go shopping, but having a car gives me that security in case I want to go outside of Berkeleh or San Francisco. I live in SoCal, so I may visit my mother and sister during winter break.

I’m keeping my car. I plan to live off campus and intern as much as possible. The BART stops running at midnight and it’s still a walk from there to campus - which is no problem during the day time but doesn’t seems fun if I need to stay late in the library or something
