Should I send additional info to colleges I've already applied to?

I was recently accepted into a U.S. Congressman’s Youth Advisory Council, which is a body of about 40 students that get the opportunity to regularly meet the congressman and learn about different aspects of the federal government. I needed to be nominated by my school, and then accepted into the program. Also, I recently became an intern on the campaign for NJ Governor, and will be really involved in the next few weeks leading up to the election. It is a partially paid position.

I already applied to about 5 schools; should I send them an email and add them to my application? My common app essay is about my political involvement, but otherwise I didn’t add anything about politics to my application because it wasn’t quite as relevant as now.

The schools I applied to, all EA:
Yale
UNC Chapel Hill
UVA
Rutgers
Miami University (Ohio)

It is fine to send an update. Just keep it short and sweet.

Sure, send an email to admissions at each school.
