Hello helpful people. I just want to ask, do recruited athletes send their supplemental college essay or the common app essay to college coaches?
Not unless the coach asks for it.
I never heard of doing that.
We did not do this, but we did have one college coach offer to have the essay reviewed.
My son’s coach asked him to send his essay over so he could read it. I don’t know why, but my son sent it, and I guess the coach liked it. I don’t know if he was pre-screening it or was just genuinely interested in it. He didn’t request that the essay be edited in any way. His coach was particularly helpful thru the process, and offered a lot of guidance
Once my son accepted his offer to a high-academic DIII, the coach asked him to send his draft essays over for review. I didn’t think that was unusual.
