Should I send my grades for college courses to universities I’m applying to?

I’m a high school senior and I’m taking two courses course in addition to my high school classes. However, I think I will get Bs in both of them. Should I still send my transcripts for these courses to the universities I’m applying to as a part of mid year report? They will eventually be on the additional info section of my final transcript, which will be sent after I’m admitted.

You must send the grades.

Any class you put down as “taking” you have to update with a grade. Because it materially changes your application if you end up not taking the class.
If the two classes were not originally included on your application, you may be able to not update because AO has no expectation you would be taking additional college classes, unlike HS classes where they know you will have new set of grades.

Having said that, getting Bs in CC classes isn’t the end of the world, depending on what classes they are and which schools we are talking about. I would have my S24 submit a “B” in college calculus to MIT if that was the grade he got.

Are these college courses one semester courses? You need to send all transcripts from all colleges when you apply for your bachelors degree. This isn’t optional.

NO…it doesn’t matter if OP reported these classes as in progress or not. ALL transcripts for all classes must be sent to the colleges that are requesting mid-year reports. OP will also have to send all transcripts to the college where they end up matriculating.

Matriculating is not the same as a mid year report. If the OP feels having 2 Bs will hurt chances of getting in, waiting until “matriculating” is fine.

OP isn’t saying not submitting the grade, just “when.”

I didn’t say they were the same thing.

OP needs to send the college course grades to any school requesting mid-year reports, it doesn’t matter if OP didn’t report them as in progress (which we don’t know). It is NOT an option to not send them. Full stop.

If OP didn’t report those classes as in progress, that was an error in need of correction. For any apps going forward, OP needs to report those classes and grades.

“full stop,” really?

I guess we’ll have to agree to disagree.

It’s important for OP and others reading this thread to understand that all courses taken at the HS or taken at colleges during HS (whether DE or not) be reported on college applications, and grades updated as required.

There is not an option for students to selectively withhold the fact that classes are being taken (we don’t know if OP did that), or to report grades for those classes when the timing might better suit the student. Colleges can (and have) rescinded acceptances for such omissions/non-compliance.

Colleges you apply to as frosh will want to know about any college courses and grades in them, as well as your high school courses and grades. So send transcripts to schools that require transcripts, and self-report to schools that use self-reported courses and grades to be verified later by final transcripts.

It was a linear algebra class and one elective. The problem is, I’m planning to apply as math/physics majors to top colleges like ivies and mit. Also, I’ve done lots of math related activities in high school so my entire application is oriented towards math. I’m really worried that this B will convince them that I’m not as talented in math

Thank you for your advice. I’ll send my grades later when they become available to send. The problem is, one of two courses I took is college-level math and I’m planning to apply as math/physics majors to top colleges like ivies and mit. Also, I’ve done lots of math related activities in high school so my entire application is oriented towards math. I’m really worried that this B will convince them that I’m not as talented in math

I also got deferred from my dream school so I’m really worried that this will move me towards rejection :frowning:
