Should I have more elite colleges on my list?

Demographics: White, Female, Family Income 100,000-110,000
Major: Business Admin / Management
GPA: 3.93

ACT: English 36, Reading 36, Math 27, Science 27,
SAT II: Total 1390, EBRW 710, Math 680

Extracurriculars: Student Government President, Class of 2017 President, National Honor Society Vice President, Service Committee Director, School Red Cross Blood Drive Coordinator, Student School Board Representative, Prom Planning Director, Culture Fair Director, School Cafe Cofounder, Lead Tenor Sax in Orchestra, Pep Band, and Concert Band

I have also been on three separate trips to Haiti & the Dominican Republic to distribute water purifiers.

Work Experience: Not-for-Profit Intern, 2 Jobs with 20 hrs/wk, well over 1,000 volunteer hours

Academic Awards: AP Scholar, APUSH Student of the Year, APLit Student of the Year, English Student of the year x3, Earth & Space Student of the Year

Currently I have applied to Butler University, Indiana University, and New York University. I am on the fence about applying to University of Chicago (Global Studies), Notre Dame, and Penn.

By asking if you should shoot higher you’re implying the schools you’re applying to are not high… they’re great schools. IMO you have great scores (ACT particularly) - I would apply to those other schools if you want to go to one of them!

You should consider applying to more top undergrad business programs, such as Boston College, UMich, UVA, Cornell, etc. I would also apply to Wharton, and ND for business and Chicago and/or Northwestern for Economics.

Uchic and Notre Dame : why not?
Wharton = probably not worth it because they want high math scores.
Look into Northwestern, Denison’s Global Commerce, Middlebury, Colgate, Hamilton.
Dickinson 's international management may interest you too.

OP, did you leave schools off the list because you felt that they were unrealistic for you? There are some good suggestions above if that’s the case, but if you feel like the schools you’ve listed are perfect for your interests and your pocketbook, there’s no need to expand the list. If, on the other hand, all that’s holding you back is fear of rejection, go for it!
