So this is what’s happening. I was a former student at TSU (Texas southern university) and attended the fall 2014 semester. I applied for FAFSA as well as scholarships and didn’t receive any grants .My FINANCIAL AID and my scholarship money was enough by the end of my fall semester (not surprised) but I was surprised at how much they charged me by the end of the semester and how much I had to pay them back. So I didn’t attend the college for the next semester so that I could continue working but due to amount of finance I get at the moment im not able to pay them back. So I just laid it off until I had a decent job to start paying. I didn’t want to take out a loan due to the fact of the higher interest rates and more technical for not being able to pay them timely. So now I would like to attend a community college which is HCC (Houston community college) for 2015 fall semester. Unfortunately they want a copy of transcripts from all the schools I attended as well as high school. The only problem is since im not paying TSU asap they put a hold on my account so I wouldn’t be able to receive my transcript. I also thought about the fact that University classes wouldn’t match up to community college classes and my GPA of a 2.7 would transfer over and it wouldn’t do any good paying TSU for the classes if there there’s no point in use of the credits towards my associates degree at the moment . I am aware with is that you can get into trouble for not showing them the other university’s you attended and im also aware they can use clear house if they were seeking for my transcript. So I can either tell the truth and start paying for pointless classes (included one failed out of the six) become broke and start at a comminuty college with a low GPA or tell the truth and tell a lie to why I can be able to get my transcript or the worst just full out lie and say I took the year break. PLEASE HELP
It isn’t a good idea to lie. Lies have a funny way of catching up to you (I would know). Send your transcripts over. It’s possible there are certain classes that won’t transfer over, so your GPA will be higher. Also, if you plan on transferring somewhere, they might like to see improvements. Another thing, it might be a good idea to take those classes over again because then you will get a stronger foundation if you move on to more advanced classes in those subjects. Now it’s up to you to work harder.
