For $205 ( $175 the following year)

NYU says that the Dental School provides these services:

Routine composites (tooth-colored fillings)
Preventive Care
Semiannual prophylaxes (cleanings)
Sealants
Oral hygiene instruction
Discounted Fees
20% off most dental services not included in the plan
10% off orthodontic treatment

As I don’t have any dental insurance, I probably would never visit dental office…

so I am just thinking about signing up for this program to keep my teeth in good condition…

is this program worth $205??

You should take advantage of the plan if you can. Just a simple cleaning and check up with xrays is over $205 and you could get two per year. Sealants are an excellent idea and they are usually $60 per tooth. Schedule both appts asap and then keep them. Good luck at NYU and don’t forget to floss!!

NO. Assuming you have a dentist at home who you see on a regular basis, there’s almost no chance you’ll need it. Waste of money, and if you’re under your parents’ insurance, you won’t have to look too hard for a dentist in NYC in case of emergencies.

Well… I don’t have any medical insurance that is vaild in the US except the one from NYU…

Then you might as well get it, merumerume, since you don’t have any other US health insurance. It’s a good deal (and you get to help out the dental school). :D
