Should I SIR now

I got my acceptance letter for UCR and their the only campus that will let me in with 55 units . I’m not doing well in one of my classes and failing it( pass /no pass, no effect on GPA) will put me at 55 units . I couldn’t get any units done last semester due to working 72 hours a week . I want to get into UCI, but I don’t think they will let me slide on this(Im going to call and ask again , tell them im going to do summer session to get to 60 by Fall ) .

Anyway worst come to worst I could just go to UCR for a year then transfer to another UC( though I may not, UCR seems like a good school).

UCI won’t let you in with 55 units. You have to have 60 units by the end of spring; they won’t let you finish the 60 with a summer session. I’m not UCI, however. If i were you, i would wait, since June 1 is the deadline to send in your SIR

Yeah, i could wait until june 1st, see if things turn around ( i did get a B on my last test for that class)
But for guaranteed housing the deadline is may 1st for UCR.
Thanks for the tip.

I don’t think you are held to anything if you submit a housing application (even if you don’t end up enrolling and staying there)

…at least that is what the UCSD brochure they sent me says. (I’m pretty sure it will work the same way with all UCs, but you should double check with them).

So you could just submit the app for UCR housing and then back out if you don’t end up going there
