Should I start my personal statement with a quick story?

I have a short story that will introduce my topic about my strengths and weaknesses. Would it be bad if I included that story in my personal statement as an introduction to myself?

I introduced my personal statement with a story to help get my point across and give an example. If you decide to do so, just remember to keep the story short and concise, the reader doesn’t have to know every detail. Show your point and move on…

Anecdotes are definitely the most effective personal statements. They tell so much about a person, especially since they are unique to you! Go for it. Just remember to show not tell.

Well it’s not so much a personal anecdote as simply a story that introduces a quality that I have. Should I still include it? I mean it’s pretty short and concise but I’m unsure if I can put it…or am I only supposed to use anecdotes about things that actually happened to me?

shortstop5 It’s definitely short and to the point. Thanks :)
