Should I start withdrawing?

I have been accepted to Cornell, but I still haven’t received the confirmation letter from Cornell.
Should I start withdrawing my apps from other colleges?
Does that process take long? If not, I want to start withdrawing after I receive the confirmation letter from Cornell. Just in case… I want to be sure.

Takes a phone call, so its pretty fast. Of course, under the ED contract, the sooner would be the better.

Don’t withdraw yet, call up Cornell and make sure that you are receiving a letter saying that you were accepted and ask them to verify that you are accepted. It would be horrible if somehow they had a computer glitch and not only would you have been deferred/rejected from Cornell you will have also withdrawn your other apps. I would suggest first call and confirm, then withdraw. Your decision though.

Since it only takes a phone call, I would wait till I get an official letter. It is due on January 8th, right?

Definitely wait. Its not hard at all to withdraw apps, and besides, honestly, how is Cornell going to check up to see that you withdrew them anyhow? You never (or at least I never) told them what other schools you applied to! It’s more of an honor system thing than an enforced deadline. All they want to be sure of is that they can count on you attending next year.

Yay I just have received my official acceptance letter! hmm… y is it so small? o well… I should start withdrawing apps
