I am currently at Journalism 1, and due to conflicting schedules,
I have to decide between Journalism 2, which is where I get to write in the school newspaper or to continue Spanish 3.

I want to continue Journalism 2, because it’s like a creative outlet for me, at the same time I feel like discontinuing foreign language will be a huge disadvantage for me.

I’d do the Spanish - because so many schools strongly recommend 3 years - and talk to your journalism teacher about the fact that you’d like to continue with the newspaper as an extra-curricular activity.

I agree with the above posters, and would add that with three strong years of Spanish, at many schools you might be able to test out of any foreign language distribution requirement.

Agree with above posters. 3yrs lang is a requirement by some selective colleges, wheras your elective of Journalism isn’t. Follow CuriousJane’s advice and try to do Journalism on the outside. Best of luck to you.
