Should I submit my SAT to Smith?

Hello! I’m applying regular decision to smith.

I have a 3.99 gpa and 1400 sat (710 R+W, 690 M)

Majoring is neuro/psychology and minor in music or theater

Should I submit my sat, I’m confused on what the 50th percentile is (the most recent one)

Thank you!

They don’t seem to post the #s but in the last CDS 55% show submitting with a 1390 25th percentile and 1440 50th.

The 710 is also just above the 25th while the 690 is between the 25th and 50th.

That’s a year old data so if anything it might have gone up.

Some would say no because if you don’t have a hook and you are below the 50th, it will hurt.

We left it to our daughter with her 32 ACT - whether to submit. She was proud of it and submitted to all but one and she lived with the consequences.

I’m not sure it will help but in my opinion it won’t hurt. There is some school of thought that if you submit a 1400 that it shows you weren’t a 1000 or 1200, etc.

The test score is considered so not a lot of weight is given to it.

Best of luck whatever you decide.

If it were me, I would submit.

You probably should, especially if you are URM or coming from a low-stats high school (inner city or rural).

I would also submit. I think it could help, and it is very unlikely to hurt you relatively to being test optional.
