Should I submit two ACT scores which have the same composite even if the college does not superscore

Hello,

After taking the September ACT, this question has bugged me but I haven’t found an answer yet. This is my first post – and the reason I created a College Confidential Account. My composite scores for September and a previous test date are equal. However, I did better on English and Math on the recent test, and Reading and Science for the past test. My first choice college does not superscore the ACT, but I wish to show them the best of my achievements. Which of the outcomes would happen if I sent both?

  1. Because they have the same composite score but strengths in different subjects, both are considered (What I hope!)
  2. Only one test date is selected at random, and the other is not considered at all
  3. Only one test date is selected at random, and the other becomes a disadvantage for me because I did not follow directions (Worst case scenario)

In general, would it be worth it to send both of them? I’d like to know which is more probable and recommended-- having an advantage by outcomes 1 and 2, or having a disadvantage by outcome 3.
Thank you very much!

Ask the colleges directly. They will give you the best advice and the only advice that matters.

It depends on the school. For UMich CoE, for example, it does not superscore ACT but would look at Math section score separately.
