I have been attending a small baptist school for 3 years now and I am a sophomore. There is only 12 kids in my grade and I have a lot of great friends and I like it but I find it hard to relate to my peers because i am not a baptist and I’m not into youth group or church but I am a christian. I went to public school from all of elementary school till 7th grade and i switched to a catholic school and i didn’t like that either and switched to my current school in 8th grade. I sing and my school doesn’t have a music class or chorus and we don’t much extracurriculars. I play on varsity tennis and varsity track at the public school in the town i live in because my school only has soccer, baseball, and basketball. I have made friends from the school and I feel like I relate more to kids that go to a normal school. Also there are no cute boys at my school that like girls and the kids think having a crush is a sin. The school is the best public schools in the state and its not huge. I don’t know what to do because I applied for 2 private schools that offered sports and extracurriculars but I didn’t get in because I’m a year behind in math. My mom says that colleges won’t like that i have switched schools and they like to see that you have stayed at one school but I just feel like I’m missing out on having more friends and more opportunities because of how small my school is.
12 kids? Are you serious? :0
Being in a small school like that may be beneficial if your goal is to be surrounded by other like-minded Baptist students. That does not seem to be your goal. It would be better to have more opportunities for classes/AP, clubs, and meeting a variety of people in the public school.
