Should I take a 300 level Political Science class as a freshmen?

I passed the AP Gov. Test with a 4. To be frank, I want to get my G.e for political science out before I take econ, which is a requirement for my major.

The only problem is that the class is a level 300 and it’s the only class that fits my schedule right now.
I like government and I think its quite interesting, but I don’t know if I’m cut out for the huge workload as everyone say, even though I spent most of my highschool years taking AP classes. I don’t want to overwhelm myself and sink my gpa.

The class is POSC 300 Contemporary Issues CA Gov & Politics. And I’m taking other 3 100 level class as a starter.

Thanks.
