I’m taking the PSAT this October and I’m considering taking the Kaplan course. I already have the Barron’s book and all the CollegeBoard/KhanAcademy stuff, so is it worth it? I’ve heard a lot of bad things about Kaplan courses, like not learning anything and the teachers being bad. The only reason I’m considering it is that they offer two proctored tests, which could potentially help as it’s more practice. The question is, are the Barrons and the College Board practice tests enough if I’m going for NMS? I did well as a sophomore (though not well enough to qualify), so I’m wondering if it’s even worth spending 3 hours every Sunday for 5 weeks at a course when I could be sleeping, doing school work, or even studying on my own, which I’ve been told by some is far more productive than sitting in a classroom filled with unmotivated kids. Thoughts? Advice?
