First, let me tell you that my English is not first language and I migrated to the U.S. five years ago. I took PSAT last October and scored 133 (36, 50, 47). From October to January, I took SAT prep course at Elite Educational Institute paying $440 per month. When I took real SAT test on May, my score improved but still bad (1470: 380 600 490) I’m thinking of taking SAT prep at Elite during summer but it costs like $1100 for 8 weeks. I’m worried but also feel sorry for my parents since they don’t make a lot of money. Can you give me advice? btw, Reading is my major problem

You don’t necessarily need to pay that much. If you invest in the college board SAT book it can help a lot. You need to read the book and actually do the practice tests. Then you look in the back of the book for the answers and explanations, and then you fix what you got wrong and keep practicing like that.

What are your goals? What grade are you in? Do all your friends speak English? It seem that you skipped almost every article in your post, so you might need to brush up on the way you speak and write. With a 380 in critical reading… your lack of English ability may be bleeding into the math section…

I would say spend more time reading books and immersing yourself in English which will help alot.

SAT books will really help only after a strong base of information is stored in your mind
