Is it worth the price? Has anybody taken it before? How do they test you? Do they give you two semester grades or one grade for the whole course, and does it count in your GPA?

I’m really confused right now… I was considering taking Macro along with it, but I don’t know how difficult it will be…

My schedule for next year is:

AP Biology (MUCH easier compared to other schools.)
AP Language and Composition
AP US History
AP Environmental Science (Complete joke)
AP Art History (Complete joke)
Honors Pre-Calc (Kind of a joke where I take it.)

My schedule looks difficult, but it’s really pretty light. I need a bit more rigor.

How will colleges view an online course?

Any information or advice would be very much appreciated.

Ehh, I don’t recommend CTY for online AP Micro. I took the class for enrichment in my freshman year and didn’t get much out of it. If you are looking to take the Micro AP exam, just pick up a prep book from your bookstore (I suggest PR, although I’m not sure what CC concensus says) and you’re good to go.

Micro is a very basic course. I’d say 70% of it was graphs with very basic numbers. It’s more like a humanities/social science course than anything.

As for the GPA question, that is completely up to your school policy. Check with your GC if you are looking to bump up your class rank with an online course.

AP Art History is one of the toughest AP exams out there. If you want to take AP Micro, why not take it through FLVS? It costs about $400 for out of state students, and that’s much better than CTY’s price tag. All the FLVS AP courses are well designed.
