Should I take AP Stats this year?

Here’s my situation:
I am a junior who wants to take 4 AP’s this year in order to get the National AP Scholar award. I’m planning to take AP Spanish, which my school offers, and self-study AP Bio (I’m in H. Bio), AP English Lang, and AP Stats. My school offers AP Stats, but only seniors get into it, and I didn’t get it this year. If I take the course my senior year, I will have completed all the math courses my school offers, but if I take the AP my junior year, I’ll (hopefully) be able to get the National AP Scholar award; self-studying AP Stats would be relatively easy because I am good at math. My school doesn’t offer any other AP’s (besides ones I’ve taken).
I would greatly appreciate any advice on whether I should take the AP this year.

lol dude…save apstat for senior year…self study another course and sign up for the ap exam at another high school

If your school offers the class, it is better to take the class. Self studying will do nothing for you from a college admissions perspective, and AP National Scholar as a junior will not significantly move the needle.

I guess the only other thing is that if I end up taking AP Stats my senior year, I’ll only have 2 years of history (instead of 3).

At my DD’s school, they are taking AP-Stats as early as sophomore year. DD is a senior and is taking it. She had summer assignments so she is well into it and says that it’s pretty easy and that she could have taken it last year with pre-calc.
