Should I take Calc II?

I’m wondering if I should take Calc II next semester or not. I’m thinking about minoring in math after I finish community college, and I’;m thinking about getting teaching certification in math (as well as another subject). The thing is, I need to get a 4.0 my next two semesters. I have a 3.6 right now and I really need to bring that up. One of the colleges I want to transfer to offers a full ride (valued at $40k+) to one student from each campus of my community college, and I think I have a really good chance. I just don’t want Calc II to drag down my GPA. I’m thinking I could take Calc II after I transfer. I mean, I’m taking linear algebra this semester and possibly diff. equations next, so…

Ideas?

I wouldn’t take it unless you need it right now.

As far as I know, you need Calc II as a prerequisite to linear algebra and differential equations…

If you think you have a shot at the scholarship, I would say take Calc II and get at leas a B in it. That would be more impressive than an easy A in a filler class.

im going to warn u, i think calc II is the hardest of the entire series

@Kaleid - Calc II is a pre-req for differential equations, yes. I didn’t realize that. I’ll probably take discrete math then, since it only needs Calc I. And linear algebra at my school only requires Calc I as well.

And yeah I realize that Calc II is the hardest in the series. That’s why I’m a bit torn, hah.
