I want to major in comm/media studies or maybe Econ at Berkeley. I got placed into calculus and I’m going to be starting my first year at ccc in the fall. So should I take calculus. Will it look better or should I just go into algebra or something?
Thanks

why would you want to take algebra when you are in calculus? that is like insulting your intelligent. Yes it will look better or flexible when you decide to change major in future.

ECON requires calc 1 and 2 for Berkeley–so you would still need to take them for econ.

Why would you do Algebra?

I was just trying to see if it is worth taking calculus while running the risk of getting a lower gpa. I guess I’ll just stick to calculus…

Well, if you are trying to get into Berkeley Economics get “A” in everything to be considered competitive.

Algebra isn’t even transferable, so even though you get an “A” in this class it won’t affect your GPA. However, College Algebra is transferable.

alright cool. thanks.
