I am debating whether I should take English 10B next quarter or replace it with DESMA 9 (Design / Media Arts GE), which seems to be much easier. The reason why I am considering this is becase last quarter, I took three math/science classes, and I didn’t do well. However, if I decide to replace English with DESMA 9, I think I’ll be missing out on a good professor for English 10B, Saree Makdisi. (He’s pretty good according to Bruinwalk, but I don’t know anyone who’s taken him).

What are the odds of me getting a good professor (good meaning easy grading, high chance of getting a good grade) if I don’t take 10B next quarter? Who are all of the professors teaching 10B and when do they usually teach?

Are my grades are bases entirely off of the TA? Does that mean, gradewise, that the professor choice doesn’t matter?

Currently I’m enrolled in English 10b, physics 6b, and ls 3. I have an urge to replace English 10b with any north campus GE, but I don’t know when I’ll have another good opportunity to take it. My goal is to minor in English.

Thanks guys! :)
