so I’m planning to do FPF this fall, and I’m trying to pick my courses. I know I’ve already fulfilled my QR req, but I’ve noticed that a lot of people are still taking a math course even though they have fulfilled their QR req. but the thing is, I know the major I want won’t require math (or at least from what i’ve seen looking through the major’s prereqs), so should I still take math, or use its slot to take another breadth course? (I’m planning on either majoring in polisci or mass communications/media studies)

only do it if:

1) math comes easily to you and you KNOW you will get an A in
2) you think you may change into a major later onwards that might require math.

also, stick to the 32 or 16 series if it is possible for you to get in.

This isn’t high school anymore- don’t get peer pressured into doing things you don’t want to do. So if you don’t have to and don’t want to take math, then don’t do it.
