Should I take or naw

Alright everybody,
I’m a Florida Junior
I got a 2070 in January SAT: 610,710,750 RMW
I got a 2290 in March SAT: 690,800,800 RMW

People keep telling me to take the ACT in case I get a 35-36…should I?
I know I can get 36 in math and science and a 35-36 in English, leaving me a leeway of 30-31 in reading; however, is it necessary? I plan on applying to some of the following:
Penn, Michigan, Cornell, Harvard, MIT, Stanford, Duke, WashU, CMU, Caltech, GATech, UF (safety).
Also, what do you guys think a 2290 translates into an ACT? I’d say it’s a 34.35 but everyone tells me it’s more, given the SAT is harder than the ACT.

All opinions are welcomed!

Take one more shot at the SAT. It looks like you understand that test really well! You just have to get the CR up a bit more. One more test will prob raise it even more.

If you think the ACT is easier, then take it.

I’m definitely not taking the SAT again. Even though I’ve gotten 720s on practice tests, it’s not consistent enough to say I can get it on the real thing. Also, Penn, my #1, sees all testing history so if I were to take it again and screw up I’m in dee caca

I was contemplating taking the ACT though, so any opinions are thanked

Your first score is a high 29, second score is a low 34. I don’t see any benefit in taking the ACT to be honest.

Science section in ACT is more or less an intense reading test and not really a “science” test that people are familiar with. It also has a consensus of being incredibly difficult, so if you do take the ACT it is advisable to prepare heavily for science as critical reading seems to be your weak spot on SAT.

When I took a practice test (blindly back in September) I got a 35 in science, 35 in math, 34 in writing, and 27 in reading. I’d say that I can now get at least two 36s between writing math and science. Leaving me, as previously stated, a leeway of 30-31 on reading to get a 35.

I’d be willing to study reading if it’s worth taking.

Also, my scores equated to ACT are 31 and high 34, so idk where you’re getting this from @BurgerMan1

@baller55 My figures are taken from http://www.act.org/solutions/college-career-readiness/compare-act-sat/

Which doesn’t include my 800 in writing… @BurgerMan1

2290 ~ 35. I will say “no” retake ACT.
High 5 also! I got a 2290 this March too. Although I didn’t perfect math or writing lmao

@MARCH2015SAT thanks for the advice! Happy to hear you did so well also! What exactly do you think a 2290 equates to, I’d say it’s around a 34.75.
Where do you wanna go and plan on applying?
