I am applying to LACs, and I want to study creative writing.
My GPA is I think over 4.58 weighted. I have a 2140 SAT score (800 W (11 essay), 720 CR, 610 M).
I got a 5 on the AP Lang exam. I’m taking AP Lit, AP Gov and AP Envisci senior year.
Should I take the Oct 6 SAT II Literature test? I can’t take a language SAT II because I take Italian. I’m not good at math so I don’t want to take a math SAT II.

They have an Italian SAT II

I think you should take the lit test since its clearly your strong suit and can’t hurt; plus a lot of LACs recommend or require them.

The Italian SAT II is only offered in December so that’s not an option.

Plus my school doesn’t prepare us THAT well for a test like that

I say go for it. It’s known to be one of the harder subject tests, but the good thing is that it really doesn’t require any preparation. If you’re good at reading and analyzing passages, that’s all you need! You really have nothing to lose except the $35 fee, but if you think that it’s worth $35 to feel more confident in your application, then why not take it?

I actually found the lit test really enjoyable and the passages weren’t the usual (pardon me) crap found on the SAT!

No, you can do the December one Colleges have a deadline for the app that’s usually in November, but they let you send SAT scores up until January.
