I have a SAT I tomorrow morning.
I can only sign up either the November or the December SAT II before the application deadline.
However, I don’t know which one to choose.
I have a TOEFL test two weeks from now (since English is not my first language), a ACT three weeks from now, and a SAT II four weeks from now (if I sign up for the November one). Besides that, I have a crap load of school works that I need to manage.
Anyway, I compare both the pros and the cons of the November and the December SAT II.
November:
Allows me to submit my scores and application earlier, which may or may not increases my chance of acceptance. However, I have to cram the materials within 4 weeks (along with other tests and school works), which may or may not make me less prepare and end up with a lower score than I desire.
December:
More times to practice, which may end up with a higher score. But it may hit the deadline and decrease my chance of getting accepted into the college I want because the applicant pool has become larger and more applicants are submitting the application right before the deadline.

I’m shooting for biomedical engineering in Johns Hopkins University. From their website, it says that they would prefer to have at least two SAT II tests, especially for the science/engineering students. So, I’m thinking about signing up for Math 2, Physics, and Chemistry and submit the ones with the highest scores.

Really appreciate it if anyone can give me some advises!

Whats your unweighted gpa? Where are you from? Why can’t you take it twice? I assume your in your senior year, if you are realise that:
A. Universities are only seeing your first semester grades when deciding weather or not to accept you.
B. There are likely plenty of other students in the same position as you struggling to figure out what there doing so teachers are likely to take note on this and perhaps ‘crank down’ the amount of school work when it comes time for admissions etc.

Also bio medical engineering sounds Very specific, and the fact that it combines two very common majors doesn’t really help your chances at most schools in my opinion, do you know anything about ‘bio medical engineering’? Or did you think this up a week ago? Your’e really leaving out alot of information here.

Also I don’t know how much you studied for the SAT tomorrow but I would relax if I were you and go to bed early to night, you can worry about this other stuff after you take it.

Hi body642:
My uweighted GPA is 93.5 on a 100 scale. I have been taking all the honor classes since 9th grade. I took 1 AP my sophomore year, 5 AP junior year, and 6 AP senior year. I have been in the U.S for about 4 years. I came from Taiwan when I was 13.
I do realize that GPA is a big factor, but SAT I and SAT subjects are huge as well. I go to one of the top 500 high school across the nation, the school work load is relatively heavy, especially I’m taking 6 AP this year.
Anyway, I know that I want to be either a doctor or an engineer on the first day of my high school. Now, I have realized that I want to be more of an engineer than a doctor. I love biology, chemistry, physics, and calculus. So I think BME is the best choice for me. I want to go to JHU because it has one of the best BME program in U.S. Also, I live in the New England region where Maryland is one of the practical places to go for college. I don’t want to go to place like Florida, Texas, or California when my home is in New York. Lastly, if I decide to be a doctor somehow, JHU also has one of the best pre-med programs in the world. Being said that, I think I’m more likely to go with BME. Either way, JHU is a really good choice for me.
Now, back to SAT Subject. Should I take it in November or December? Also, I feel like I bombed my SAT today. I’ll decide whether or not to take it again in Nov when the score comes out. But for right now, would you guys recommend taking the SAT Subject in November or December (assuming that I don’t have to take SAT I again)?
