Should I take the SAT again just for fun?

I’m already a senior who has just finished my apps, but I notice how a few of my schools accept Jan SAT Scores, and a few said they will accept it as long as it arrives in time. I’ve only taken the SAT twice, and I’m thinking about taking it one last time just for fun and to see how I do. Because midterm exams are coming, I’m only planning to study for 1 week if I do this. Is that an okay idea?

My Current Score is a 2000 (M 780, CR 580, W 640)
My Highest score on a practice test is a 2100 (M 800, CR 600, W 700) <- this is just to gauge my potential and give any idea of my range.
In my reach schools, I am in the 25th percentile, and I’m also Asian so I don’t know how this will affect me. I am planning to be a math major.

The other option is that I can also take the ACT which I got a 27 on (M 35, E 24, R 24, S 25). The difference though is that I took the ACT with minimal studying, whereas with the SAT, I actually studied hard for it. I personally like the ACT more, the only thing is that I dedicated so much more time to the SAT than the ACT.

Any thoughts?

no don’t waste time on SAT/ACT. a score of 2050 is not going to improve your chances by that much; only if u are sure u can get 2100+, then you should take the SAT. please enjoy your life, you have much better things to do than take the SAT for a third time for an improvement of 10-50 pts increase! :P

fun???

^That was my reaction, too. ;)

You know you’re on CC when there’s a forum topic on whether someone should take the SAT again, for fun…

Only take one of them again if you are going to put in some serious study time. Otherwise you are most likely going to get around the same scores again.
