Should I Take the Sat II Physics?

Hi, I’m a Freshman (9th Grade) in a NYS public high school. I am taking the physics regents this year, and I plan to take the SAT II physics while the subject is still fresh in my mind. I am doing well, currently averaging a 99 in the class. According the teacher, we will finish all topics by May, and begin reviewing in June. The SAT II is on June 4. I was wondering if it would be wise to take this test on that date. How much do the two tests differ in terms of topics covered? I am looking forward to perhaps getting in to Columbia University. Any advice? Thanks in advance.

do u go to a school on long island, maybe say, great neck?

No, I go to school in Queens. Out of curiosity, what does that have to do with it?

oh because i thought only my school gave physics freshman year, nevermind. Personally, I took an honors physics class last year, had a 100 average, and received a 770 on the SAT II. If your class is geared towards the regents, I wouldn’t recommend it

Really? Why not? A 770 seems to be pretty good. I’ve heard that anything above 700 is above average, especially if you didn’t take the AP Physics regents. Any advice?

because my class was an HONORS physics class, specially geared towards the SAT II with an option to take the AP Physics B exam at the end of the year with extra studying (no one did). your class is physics regents, so it would not nearly cover enough physics to adequately prepare you for the SAT II. And by the way, there is no AP Physics regents
