Should I take the SAT on Wednesday

I’m a senior who has somehow been lucky enough to take the SAT 3 times by now. I took it twice last fall and got a 1430 and 1420 and then got a 1540 (760 ERW, 780 Math) this August. My school is offering the in-school SAT on Wednesday for free. The only possible improvement I can see is maybe getting a perfect math score, bringing me up to a 1560 total.

Is it worth it to take the SAT on Wednesday. It’s a free opportunity, but will colleges care if I have a 1560 rather than a 1540 (doubt it), and will they take note that this would now be my 4th SAT taken.

*My school automatically signed everyone up for the SAT and said to not show up at all if you don’t want to take it.

Covid notwithstanding, I’d skip it and sleep in.

Check with your GC to see if it’s a graduation requirement. For whatever reason, our D’s school has said that the in-school sitting specifically is required. I assume you could get a waiver, but you should triple check how easy that is to do before skipping this week’s test.

I’d recommend passing on it.

An interesting question from OP that I am curious about too…do AOs care how many times one takes the ACT/SAT or in this COVID 19 era-when it is taken?

They don’t necessarily know how many times you have taken the SAT/ACT. Only a handful of colleges require all scores be sent. Georgetown and Yale, pre-pandemic, were among those.
