It’s called Practicum. It’s this 2 hour block class offered to seniors only and for the last 2 hours of the day, you kind of ‘shadow’ a job of your choice. You might end your day at a law firm, or in a hospital. You even get to actually do hands on stuff as well, as if you’re a part of that job. It’s truly a unique experience, but will it look bad for college admissions to top schools? Like UMich? Because it is 2 precious hours of senior year and now-a-days, your senior year is pretty important!
Help! :)

At Happykid’s school this is called “Internship”. Lots of seniors do it, and it hasn’t been a barrier to their college acceptances. What you do need to do, is choose one where you will actually be doing and learning something rather than sitting on your hands in a corner all afternoon. It is a great way to gain practical experience and can lead to a paying summer job that will help you make the money you need for college.
