Should I tell Yale about these things?

Since applying, I have been offered a summer internship by the company sponsoring my school’s FIRST robotics team (I am the lead programmer on the team, and only 1-4 internships were offered). I will also be starting and teaching an after school class helping people at my school learn the C++ programming language. My school doesn’t offer any computer science courses so I am very excited about this. The only thing is that I can’t start teaching the class for another half-month or so because I am too busy with other ECs right now.

Does Yale want to know about these things that will happen, but haven’t happened yet? I have been offered the internship, and I have put effort into scheduling the after school classes. Should I send them a paragraph or two explaining everything along with my midyear report?

Most definitely. Your new activities speak of initiative at a time when most seniors are vegetating.

Yes, any updates you have would certainly be helpful. I’ve already e-mail my regional adcom 2 times about updates, and I’m going to send him another update after this weekend (I have All-State Band tryouts, and if I get 1st chair, I want them to know).
