Should I transfer after just one year of community college?

Hi all,

First post on here and I know this is more of a choice I have to make, but I just wanted others output. I started my senior year thinking I wanted to graduate and go straight into the work force for the railroad. As the first semester was coming to an end all of my friends had chosen the colleges they wanted to go to. Me? I got stuck with going to community college because I did not apply and was unsure of what I wanted to do. I then decided I was going to still follow my dream to work for the railroad but also I wanted to get a degree in Civil Engineering. After my first year of community college I decided to apply to my dream school WVU. With out of state tuition after the financial aid and scholarships the cost of attendance was still around $18,000 a year. My question is should I save the money and go one more year of community college and then apply again for the next year? Or just forget about the loans and follow my dreams?

Are you saying you’d have to take out 18,000 in loans every year for WVU? I think you should go to CC for an extra year, apply with half your units completed, and then it’s a lot less.
