Should I transfer?

I’ve been to two high schools, one in my home country and one in a N.E. Boarding school.

My GPA is about 3.7/3.8

I’ve only been at this school for 2 years but I’ve become a student house leader and a student admissions officer and the head of the MUN club.

I sit on the board of two, infant, international NGO’s. I think my EC’s are pretty solid and are concurrent with the major that I’d want to apply for.

Worked with 2 NGOs as an intern and had pretty good interviews with the schools I applied to.

Only thing was that I got into a little disciplinary trouble and the school asked if I could write to my colleges indicating that I had violatated my N.E. Boarding school’s rules.

Suffice it to say, I think that may have been a game ender for me in the college process. Luckily, I had applied EA to a school and they were generous enough not to revoke my acceptance.

If I get the same grades and, continue working with my NGOs, join a few clubs in college, is there any chance I could transfer into a bigger Ivy school after one semester?

I know UPenn discourages it but I think that my circumstances are a little bit special. I don’t know, just thinking out loud. please let me know what you think!

Thanks again!

Find a way to fall in love with UPenn. The only way other schools would accept you is to look past your HS indiscretion and to find you among the >4% of applicants who they feel will add greatly to their college.

Basically your chances at transferring “up” are next to nil. Be grateful for what you have. People would give their left arm for a seat in UPenn’s ingoing class.
