I am currently at a very good university studying engineering. I applied early decision, even though I most likely would’ve gotten in regular decision, because at the time I was certain it was where I wanted to go, even though I could have gotten into more prestigious/higher ranked schools. So far, I have done very well here, and the social scene is awesome. However, my eventual goal is to go to a top 10 business school to get my MBA, and I am worried that even though this school’s reputation is solid, it will not be good enough for that. Do I try and transfer to a more prestigious school, possibly sacrificing social life, or stay?
In the end its up to you. But if I were you, Id stay. Terry Tao went to a low key university in Australia. He then went to Princeton for mathematics. Your school doesn’t represent you, you represent the school.
