Should I transfer?

Hi,

I am an international student a biochemistry major in the second year at one of the small liberal arts colleges in New Jersey.

In the freshman year of my college, I realized that I want to pursue my career in research. I regret not applying to research universities that just focuses on my core courses and not in general education courses. ALso, I want to learn as much research skills as possible in my four years at college.

I am well aware of the fact that, transferring as an international student to a reputed college with handsome scholarship is almost impossible. But should I take a chance or should I focus on finishing my undergraduate and then apply for graduate school in big research universities?

Please help.

Feel free to apply, but have a back upplan in case you don’t get in anywhereyou can afford.

Talk with your professors about your interest in researh. Surely some of them have projects going that you could help with and/or friends at otherinstitutions who could offer you a summer research experience.
