I’m taking 9 UC transferrable units this semester. (I’m taking Elementary Algebra which doesn’t transfer and is 4 units and I’ll have to retake it in the summer because I’m not doing well and can’t pull up my grade.)

After this semester, I’ll have 24 UC transferrable units. In order to have 60 units completed by the end of next Spring, I’ll have to take 15 UC transferrable units in both the Fall and Spring and 6 units divided between the Summer Session and Winter Session. Because I won’t be able to take a UC transferrable Math course in the fall (The math class that I have to take is 5 units, Intermediate Algebra, and does not transfer.) I would have to take five additional transferrable course units to make up for the deficiency.

My proposed Fall Schedule is:

Biology 101 4 units
(Math 35) (5) units
Comparative Politics 3 units
General Psychology 3 units
Spanish 3 5 units

15 UC transferrable units (20 units total)

I am considering retaking the Elementary Algebra class as an Online class this summer so that I can take Physical Geography with a lab on campus. That may help take away some of the urgency to take so many units and help to avoid any unecessary stress this fall.

Do you think that this is a good idea? I’m taking 12 units and have been depressed and stressed out this semester due to the death of my Father. I originally was taking 18 units, but dropped two classes once I noticed that I wasn’t able to focus because I kept crying about my Dad.

Or should I give myself some time, take my time with taking classes and transfer in the Winter or Spring of 2007? I have a lot of pressure from my family and friends to transfer as soon as possible and it is quite overwhelming.
