Should I Withdraw My Class?

Hi, I am in my senior year of high school and am currently enrolled in a calculus class. I haven’t been doing well and it’s gotten very stressful, but I only have the option of continuing or withdrawing. I get straight a’s in every other class. I plan on going to an art school after graduation, would withdrawing the class have any affect on my college applications? I really want to withdraw the class but I don’t know if it will look bad.

You want to apply to pure art schools, like Mass Art and Parsons? Withdrawing from calculus won’t be an issue with your college applications.

Drop it.

Why are you in that class anyway? Did you think you might study architecture or engineering design? Even if you would want one of those majors, you could do calculus after you finish high school.

If you go that route you must notify every school you applied to that you have dropped the class. Best to do it in writing so you have a record. You should also confirm with your guidance counselor that the class is not needed for graduation.
